Terms of Use
Last updated October 15, 2026
These terms cover your use of Flowstate at flowstateprep.com, a Public Forum debate prep tool. By making an account or paying for a plan, you agree to them. Questions: support@flowstateprep.com.
Who can use it
- You must be at least 13 to make an account.
- If you are under 18, get a parent or guardian's permission before paying for a plan. They should be the one whose card is used.
- One person per account. Don't share your login.
The plans
- Flowstate has a free plan, Novice, and two paid plans, JV and Varsity. What each includes, and how much AI each gets, is listed on the Plans page.
- JV costs $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year. Varsity costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year. Prices are in US dollars. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- You can switch between JV and Varsity, and the switch starts right away. Moving up to Varsity charges the difference for the rest of your current month or year. Moving down to JV credits the unused part of what you paid toward your next payments.
- AI allowances reset over rolling windows, and may change as what the AI costs us changes. We'll say so on the Plans page first.
- Free trials: a new account that signs up with a referral code gets a free week of JV, and one that joins from a teammate's invite link gets a free week of Varsity. Someone whose referral code 6 people use gets 75 days of Varsity, once. Free time needs no card, is never charged, and ends on its own. Each account can use one code or one invite. We can end free time that comes from fake or duplicate accounts.
- If you buy a plan during free time with three or more days left, your first payment is taken when the free time ends, not before.
Renewing, canceling and refunds
- A paid plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You'll be charged the price shown when you signed up.
- Cancel any time from Settings, under Manage subscription. You keep your plan until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- We don't refund the unused part of a month or year after canceling.
- A topic brief bought on its own is a one-time charge, not a subscription. You can download it for as long as you have an account. It's for you and your partner's prep, so please don't post it or pass it around outside your team.
- If you were charged by mistake, charged twice, or charged after canceling, email support@flowstateprep.com within 30 days and we'll refund it.
- If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it for a short time. If it keeps failing, your account goes back to Novice, the free plan.
Using it fairly
- Only upload files you have the right to use. Keep cards accurate and cite sources honestly.
- Don't try to get into other people's accounts or files, get around the plan limits, or overload the service.
- Don't use friend requests, shares or messages to harass anyone.
- We can suspend accounts that break these rules. If we do, we won't refund the rest of a paid period.
The AI
- AI features can be wrong. Always check a card against its original source before you read it in a round.
- You are responsible for the evidence you read and how you use it.
- Caselist cards come from round files teams posted to the open caselist. Flowstate organizes them for search; the cards and their sources belong to the people who wrote and cut them.
Tournament rules
- Many tournaments don't allow outside help during a round, and some don't allow devices or recordings. You're responsible for following the rules of every tournament you compete at.
- Only use the tools that work during a round (Listen, answers as you flow, written speeches, Attack a card, the Assistant and the Team room) where your tournament allows them. They work the same in practice rounds and prep.
The service
- Flowstate is provided as is. We work to keep it running, but can't promise it will always be available or error free.
- We may change or remove features. If we shut down a paid plan entirely, we'll refund the unused part of any paid period.
- We may update these terms. If a change matters to paying members, we'll tell you before it applies.
